Push Back Pallet Racking is a form of pallet flow rack on which pallets can be stored up to 4 deep. Push Back Pallet Racking provides very good stock density, and makes very good use of the floor space available, whilst retaining a high degree of individual pallet selectivity.
Pallets are loaded in sequence onto wheeled carriers, or cradles, of varying heights, which are ‘pushed back’ on inclined steel channels to the full depth of the racking installation. As pallets are retrieved, those remaining roll forward, leaving the next pallet in that lane at the picking face. Because each lane is loaded/picked from one location (that the pallets move towards/away from), the forklift truck operation does not affect the pallets stored in any other lanes, either above or below the lane being used. As such, a high level of selectivity can be achieved. This selectivity is combined with a higher density of storage capacity, as pallets are both loaded and retrieved from the same aisle, thus saving valuable floor space.

Push Back Pallet Racking can be used in conjunction with conventional counter balance or reach trucks, or with articulated counterbalance trucks.

The size and the strength of the racking and roller conveyor components used in Pallet Live Storage racking are selected to accommodate the size and weight of your pallets (though this type of racking system does have restrictions on the type of pallet you can use). Loading capacities are calculated in accordance with SEMA Codes of Practice.
